CARF to increase awareness about tobacco related problems
Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) One out of ten adults worldwide die due to tobacco-related ailments, according to Cancer Aid and Research Foundation (CARF), an NGO working on the awareness of ill-effects of tobacco.
CARF will celebrate 'No Tobacco Day' tomorrow at all its centers and will spread the knowledge of the ill effects of tobacco.
At a press conference organised here today, CARF Secretary General Dr Rehan Kazi said ''It is an ongoing process where we are fighting against tobacco and the people indulging in its trade.'' He said ''as an NGO we are spreading the knowledge of ill- effects of tobacco and on the occasion of Anti-Tobacco Day, we will be having special awareness programmes from 1000 hrs to 1900 hrs at Churchgate station to make people aware of the harmful effects of tobacco''.
During the same period cancer related films will be screened for the public, along with a street play to showcase the ill-effects of smoking and tobacco consumption.
