AP: BJP to organise signature crusade sarpanches

Hyderabad, May 30: The BJP state unit would organise a signature campaign of village sarpanches, in support of separate Telangana state, from June 15 to June 30 in the backward Telangana region.

BJP Telangana movement committee adviser and former MP Janga Reddy said the party would submit the signature campaign letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President APJ Abdul Kalam and urge them to bifurcate the state before 2009 Assembly elections.

District-wise meetings on Telangana would be organised in the first week of June. The first meeting would be held on May 30 in Nalgonda district.

Mr Reddy said the party would educate BJP activists on the anti-poor policies adopted by the state government in the district meetings.
