BJP to file complaint to EC against Congress
Mangalore, May 30 (UNI) Karnataka unit's BJP President D V Sadananda Gowda today said his party will file a complaint with the Election Commission against the Congress for allegedly misleading the voters of Ullal Assembly constituency, with false information of possible postponement of election due to predicted heavy rains during the June two by-election, and distributing slips with wrong voter names.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Gowda alleged that Congress, due to the fear of losing the election, was now spreading false information during the door-to-door campaigning that they (voters) need not worry about exercising their franchises as there was all possibility of postponement of election due to possible heavy rains.
Stating that he had enough evidence on this, Mr Gowda alleged that Congress was distributing chits to voters which had wrong voter names, addresses, missing of voters and wrong booth names.
BJP had in its possession, such chits which would be submitted to the district election officer, he added.
