Birla Corporation Q4 net up 50 per cent

New Delhi, May 30: Birla Corporation Ltd, the flagship company of the M P Birla Group, has posted a 50 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 101.19 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007 as against Rs 67.14 crore in the same period a year ago.

The total income grew by 14.86 per cent to Rs 455.91 crore in Q4FY07 as compared to Rs 396.90 crore for Q4FY06.

However, the company 's net profit soared by 159 per cent at Rs 326.23 crore for this fiscal as against Rs 125.76 crore last year.

The total income rose by 29.6 per cent to Rs 1,593.41 crore for the year ending March 31, 2007 as against Rs 1,228.60 crore for the FY06.
