AP govt sanctions 2 Solid Waste power projects

Hyderabad, May 30 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today sanctioned two Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) power projects in Visakhapatnam and Nalgonda dsitricts.

Reviewing MSW power projects in the State with the officials concerned here, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said Visakha Energy Systems of 6.6 MW capacity at Kapulappada village in Visakhapatnam and RDF Power Projects of 11 MW capacity at Chinnaravulapalli village in Nalgonda district were given sanction.

Both these companies would have to enter into an MoU with the respective Municipal Corporations and they would in all probability get around Rs 3.40 per unit of power produced after deducting the wheeling charges.

These units would have to strictly abide by the conditions of the Pollution Control Board and were subject to inspections by the authorities concerned. The corporations, which would use these captive power plants, would pay the cost of the power produced and the AP Transco would collect the wheeling charges.
