Amarinder moves SC to shift land scam case outside Punjab
New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who is facing prosecution for his alleged involvement in the Ludhiana City Centre (LCC) scam, today moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case outside the state.
Capt Singh in his petition has alleged that the attitude of the present Parkash Singh Badal-led Akali Dal government was ''vindictive'' and he was falsely implicated and harrased in the case by the Vigilance Bureau of the state at the instance of the state government for settling political scores with him.
The former Chief Minister is facing allegations of not taking action on the report on the LCC scam by then DGP (Vigilance) Mohd Izhar Alam before he demitted office.
Capt Singh has already been interrogated by the Vigilance Bureau in the case and has also been asked to explain his links with Delhi businessman Chetan Gupta who was arrested by the Bureau on May 17.
