Verify passport applications by 20 days: DGP

Lucknow, May 29 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) G L Sharma today ordered that the passport applications should be verified and the report sent to the respective passport offices within 20 days.

Instructing senior police officials, Mr Sharma said ''the passport investigation reports of some districts were not sent to Bareilly and Lucknow offices within the stipulated time period, therefore, they should be sent within 20 days.'' The pending application forms should be completed by setting up of the review meetings. IG and DIG's should review the applications with the SP or SSP of the respective districts, he added.

The DGP further said ''SP and SSP of the respective districts would be held reponsible for delay in application forms.'' UNI
