Six hurt in Pakistani blast; cause not known
Peshawar, Pakistan, May 29: Six people were hurt, one seriously, in an explosion today in a car parked near a court in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, police said.
It was not clear if the blast was caused by the accidental explosion of a gas cylinder or a bomb, said city police chief Abdul Majeed Marwat.
Peshawar, capital of North West Frontier Province near the Afghan border, has been hit by a rash of blasts in recent months blamed on Islamist militants angry with President Pervez Musharraf's alliance with the United States.
A suicide bomber blew himself in a Peshawar restaurant on May 15, killing 25 people.
