Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) Hearing into the regular bail for estate agent Chandresh Shah who, along with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, has been charged of extortion by the Anti Extortion Cell, was adjourned till tomorrow after objections were raised about the jurisdiction of the court today.

City Civil and Sessions Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale will tomorrow decide as to which is the regular court where the matter can be heard.

Yesterday, Shah had moved the sessions court for bail after his interim anticipatory bail expired.

When the matter came up before additional sessions judge P V Bavkar, additional public prosecutor Mohan Sawant objected that this is not a regular court and the applicant should surrender and apply for bail before the metropolitan court.

Defence advocate Abad Ponda, citing some Supreme Court judgement, however contended that this was the regular court. Thereafter, Judge Bavkar sent back the matter to principal judge Bhangale for clarification, who adjourned the matter till tomorrow.

It may be recalled that Vinod Pranlal Avlani, a real estate developer and builder, in a complaint with the crime branch in December last year, had accused eight persons, including Parkar and Sandeep Shukla, of cheating him of Rs 30 lakh after the failure of the SRA project. Shah had served as a mediator between Shukla and Avlani.
