Rupee trades stronger at 40.45/46 per dollar
Mumbai, May 29: The rupee strengthened further in the intra-day session to trade at 40.45/46 per US dollar as compared to the previous close of 40.50.
The local unit had touched a fresh nine-year high of 40.27/28 yesterday.
Strong wave of capital inflows were witnessed by investors in the morning trade, but gains were seen limited by month-end dollar demand from oil refiners, traders said.
The local currency is expected to maintain prominence in next few weeks in the backdrop of enormous capital inflows and a week dollar, dealers added.
