Rs 1.5 lakh looted in Samastipur

Samastipur, May 29 (UNI) A few unidentified criminals today looted Rs 1.5 lakh from an employee of the state electricity board near Chini Mill Chowk under town police station area in the district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar here said the incident took place when the treasurer of the electricity board was on way to deposit Rs 1.51 lakh in a nearby branch of the Canara Bank.

Two criminals attacked the employee and looted the cash at gun point.

Raids were on to nab the criminals and recover the looted cash, he added.
