Passenger amenities to be developed in Eastern Railway
Patna, May 29 (UNI) The Eastern Railway (ER) has planned for better train services and passenger amenities in majority of its sections, ER sources informed today.
After inspecting the Bhagalpur-Jamalpur section of Malda division and reviewing various ongoing projects, General Manager of ER Narendra Kumar Goel told newspersons at Bhagalpur the ER has decided to improve the passenger amenities at Bhagalpur, Sultangunj, Jamalpur and other stations.
Mr Goel said the Bhagalpur, Sultangunj and Jamalpur stations would be developed as model stations adding that work on the project had already started.
The State Bank of India and the Canara Bank would both set up two ATMs, besides a food plaza at Bhagalpur station, he added.
Later, he inspected the ongoing construction work of a new station building and extension of platforms at Sultanganj at cost of Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 80 lakhs respectively.
