No difference in appointement of task force: CPI leader
Thiruvananthapuram, May 29 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary Veliyam Bharghavan today clarified that there was no difference of opinion in the appointment of the task-force for the demolition drive in Munnar.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said the only suggestion emerged at the Left Democratic Front (LDF) meeting was that one senior IAS officer should be appointed to head the task force.
However, the CPI was satisfied with the activities of the task force in Munnar, Mr Bharghavan said.
He rejected the allegation that the CPI had accepted money from resort owners in Munnar for re-launching party organ ''Janayugam.'' Parrying queries about the action taken by the CPI(M) against Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, he said ''it is that party's internal affairs and I will not comment on it.'' On the leakage of LDF meeting reports to the media, he reiterated that neither the CPI nor the CPI(M) would indulge in such activities.
However, such tendency was not healthy and it should be checked. The CPI had raised the issue in the LDF meeting earlier, he added.
