Nine people arrested in Vaishali

Hajipur, May 29 (UNI) Altogether nine people, including a junior engineer, were arrested here on charges of corruption, loot and several other criminal cases registered against them in Vaishali district.

Deputy Police Superintendent Anil Kumar said all of them have been sent to jail custody.

Junior engineer of city municipal corporation Surendra Jha was arrested in connection with a corruption case while Guddu Kumar of Khedarpur village was arrested for assaulting a block development officer of Sahdei.

''Seven others were arrested for their involvement in group clashes following the announcement of results of civic polls held on May 26,''he added.
