Minister slams Naidu on TDP Mahanadu resolutions
Vijayawada, May 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Mandali Buddha Prasad today criticised the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for the resolutions adopted on economic reforms and agriculture at its ongoing mahanadu and said the party instead introspect on its wrong-doings during its nine-year tenure.
Addressing the press here, Mr Prasad said TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu's comments on agriculture was only to hoodwink the farmers as he had neglected the sector when he was the chief minister.
Mr Naidu's aim was to derive political mileage by criticising the Rajasekhara Reddy Government. He alleged peasants suicides was unabated when the TDP was in power only due to 'its wrong policies.' The minister said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was giving utmost priority to 'jalayagnam' (irrigation initiative) and agriculture sector.
Mr Prasad flayed the TDP chief for not touching upon the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator Project at the mahanadu though he had criticised the state government earlier saying the Krishna Delta and Telangana would suffer due to the project.
On Mr Naidu's reported criticism of the Centre not conferring Bharat Ratna to TDP Founder and Former Chief Minister NTR, Mr Prasad wanted to know whey he had not taken up the issue with the earlier NDA Government to whom he had extended support.
He asked the TDP to behave like a constructive opposition instead of continuing 'mud slinging' on the present government. The opposition could point out the mistakes of the government, if any, for rectifying them.
