Metal prices rise further

Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) Metal prices rose further today on good industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy, copper utensils were up by Rs 600 and Rs 400 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bar and zinc slab inched up by Rs 500 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively because of better buying support.

Tin slab also shot up by Rs five due to higher demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,300, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,900 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,400, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 725 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,250 (per kg).
