Karnataka may come out with Law University Ordinance soon

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) Karnataka is proposing to come out with an Ordinance to set up a Law University in Rayapura area near the twin cities of Hubli-Dharwad, state Home Minister M P Prakash announced here today.

Mr Prakash told newspersons after the NDC meeting that the Ordinance would be brought out soon so that the Law University would be able to function from the coming academic year. All the law colleges would be affiliated to this University.

Since the academic year is commencing, the Government will be appointing the University's first Vice-Chancellor. The University has been provided with 25 acres of land and in the due course of time another 25 acres would be provided, he said.

He said the University may not be offering any law courses initially but may start Post Graduate courses at a later date, he informed.
