New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) A team of senior officials from the Home Ministry will soon visit Chhattisgarh to review the adequacy of security infrastructure in the state where 105 security personnel were killed in naxal violence in the last five months.

The immediate provocation for sending the team was the killing of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel after naxals ambushed a patrol party near Bijapur district's Hedkameta village yesterday.

A police personnel was also injured in another naxal attak at Nagoor in the same village yesterday.

"Since Chhattisgarh continues to be at the epicentre of naxal violence, a high-level official team will visit the state in the near future to review the overall naxal situation and suggest measures to remove inadequacies," an official of the Home Minsitry said here.

The Home Secretary recently wrote to the State Government offering assistance in strengthening the intelligence machinery.

Following this, a central team had recently visited the State to review the situation and suggested special arrangements to beef up intelligence.

In the wake of yesterday's incidents, Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta had spoken to the Chief Secretary and Special Secretary to the Director General of Police (DGP).

A helicopter was despatched to Chattisgarh by the Home Ministry.

A spokesman of the ministry said Mr Madhukar Gupta had a detailed review of the incident with all concerned agencies this morning.
