Governor Krishna inspects desilting work of Mithi river
Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna today visited the Mithi River and inspected the progress of the desilting work being carried out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
The Governor visited the river at three sites - airport authority ground, opposite Kalpana talkies, Vakola nalla bridge and behind the MMRDA building, a Raj Bhavan release here said.
Mumbai Mayor Dr Shubha Raul, Municipal Commissioner Dr Jayraj Phatak, MMRDA Commissioner Dr T Chandrashekar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Shrikant Singh, Mithi River Development Project Director Dr Vikas Tondwalkar and other officials accompanied Mr Krishna and later briefed him about the progress of the work at a meeting held in the MMRDA commissioner's office, the release added.
