FIR against Dy CM of Bihar
Patna, May 29 (UNI) An FIR was lodged today against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi for allegedly violating the election model code of conduct, official sources said.
The FIR was lodged at Kadamkuan Police Station under section 188 of the IPC. On the directive of the state Election Commission, the district administration lodged the case against Mr Modi.
Mr Modi had been charged with using a beacon light fitted official car during his visit to a polling booth to cast vote during Patna municipal elections. He was also escorted by his security guards to the polling booth.
Meanwhile, Mr Modi said the act was not at all a deliberate one and just to save his time, he used the official car to visit the polling booth, while on the way to Hajipur in connection with an official function.
He said, ''In case it was in violation of the model code of conduct, he would reply suitably.'' Eds : Pls pick up suitably from earlier series.
