Fake stamp paper scam accused protest Judge's transfer
Pune, May 29 (UNI) Abdul Karim Telgi, prime accused in the Inter-state fake stamp paper scam, along with 50 other accused, went on a hunger stike at the Yerawada jail today, demanding cancellation of the transfer of Special MCOCA Judge Chitra Bhedi.
All the accused appeared before the Judge through video- conferencing.
The Judge asked prime accused Telgi to withdraw the protest but Telgi said ''we are pressing for our demand for a speedy trial''.
The Fake stamp paper scam case was first registered at Bund Garden Police station in June 2002. A total of 67 persons including senior police officials, and a couple of politicians have been arrested in connection with the case.
