Don't allow any pilgrim from Baltal before June 30: J

Srinagar, May 29 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today directed the police not to allow any devotee to proceed to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath via Baltal ahead of the commencement of the annual pilgrimage on June 30 in view of bad weather conditions.

Transport Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen reviewed arrangements made by the state government for smooth conduct of the pilgrimage during his visit to Baltal and Sonamarg.

He directed the police not to allow any devotee to proceed toward the holy cave shrine from Baltal ahead of the commencement of the annual pilgrimage keeping in mind the bad weather conditions in the area.

Hakeem Yaseen underlined the need for close coordination between various departments and agencies concerned for smooth and peaceful conduct of the pilgrimage.

The Minister said the state government has taken various steps for smooth conduct of the pilgrimage this year.
