Dhumal says similar CD was given to him

Una, May 29 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said a copy of the CD released by former state Tourism Minister and Shahpur legislator Vijai Singh Mankotia was also handed over to him by someone, but due to paucity of time he was not able to listen to it.

''I thought it was some music CD and did not have time to listen to it during my election campaign, also because my jeep does not have a CD player,'' he said at a press conference here.

Mr Dhumal said after the CD was released by Mr Mankotia did he thought of listening to it.

However, the voices in the CD are clear and the identities of the speakers are unmistakably clear, he said.

Reacting to reports that bundles of newspapers were being stolen or bought at exorbitant rates from some hawkers by Congressmen, Mr Dhumal said the situation was reminiscent of emergency days.

He said this was a shoddy act by the Congress to hide the facts from being reported to the people of the state by the media.

The former Chief Minister was reacting to reports in a section of the press that a few dailies, carrying story about the CD release, were not available in the market.
