Centre to set up CMs' panel on power sector

New Delhi,May 29 (UNI) The Central government has agreed to constitute a group of chief ministers (GOCMs) for effective and efficient development of power sector.

Stating this here today, Rajasthan government said power secretary Anil Rajadan agreed to a suggestion to this effect made by chief minister Vasundhara Raje during the CMs' conference on power sector held as part of deliberations of the National Development Council.

The state government's efforts in cutting down transmission and distribution losses by five per cent in 2006-07 as against the national average of one per cent was appreciated during the conference, an official statement said.
