BJP activist stage protest against CM

Shimla, May 29 (UNI) Activists of BJP today staged a protest in front of Shimla Deputy Commissioner's office here against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife for their alleged involvement in the CD scam.

Speaking on the occasion, several BJP leaders demanded the Chief Minister's resignation on moral grounds.

The activists attempted to burn Mr Singh's effigy, which was snatched by the police.

However, the demonstrators did later burn something, saying they had prepared another, knowing fully well that the police would snatch the effigy away from them.
