Attack in district courts complex, 2 injured

Ludhiana, May 29 (UNI) Two persons were injured when they were attacked by a rival group in the district courts complex here this afternoon.

According to the police, Ravinderpal Singh (26) and his friend Amanpreet Singh were attacked with swords by a 15-member group while they were holding a meeting with their lawyer in the courts complex.

Both sustained injuries in the attack and were later admitted to a private hospital, where the condition of Ravinderpal was stated to be serious.

Police said that old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the attack and the two friends had come to the courts to consult their lawyer about a land dispute. The attack led to panic in the courts complex.

The police has registered a case under section-307 of the IPC against members of the attacking party. So far no arrests had been made.
