Apollo doctor commits suicide

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) A 40-year-old doctor of the Apollo Hospital here allegedly committed suicide at the hospital premises early this morning.

Dr Umesh Sharma, Head of the Outdoor Patient Department, was found unconscious at about 0700 hrs at the hospital by fellow workers, said a senior police official.

He was last seen taking a round of his patients at the hospital at about 0500 hrs.

A note found from his possession said he was taking his own life and no one else was responsible for his death.

Initial reports suggest he had consumed some poisonous substance, the official added.
