Sikh hardliners reject apology of Sacha Sauda
Fatehgarh Sahib, May 29: The "Sant Samaj", a conglomeration of various hardline Sikh groups today outrightly rejected the apology tendered by the Dera Sacha Sauda for the blasphemous imitation of Guru Gobind Singh by Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh.
The rejection followed a meeting of the "Sant Samaj" held at the headquarters of Sant Hari Singh Randhawawale here.
The meeting was attended by SAD (Amritsar) leader Daljit Singh Bittu, Dal Khalsa's Satnam Singh Paonta Sahib, former Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode and Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa.
Later talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Baba Harnam Singh said that the apology was rejected as the Dera Sacha chief had not signed it. He said that Dera chief should himself apologise to the Sikh 'panth' (community).
He said that the decision of the "Sant Samaj" had been intimated to the Akal Takht at Amritsar. He, however, added that they would follow whatever directions come from the highest temporal seat.
