Bhopal, May 29 (UNI) Six people were killed and eight injured overnight in Madhya Pradesh's weather-linked incidents even as widespread precipitation made the mercury plummet five to six degrees.

Lightning killed two persons in Shajapur district, one each in Chhindwara and Ujjain. A squall made a house collapse in Raisen district, killing two persons and hurting four while separate incidents of lightning severely injured four persons.

The state capital recorded a high of 36.6 C and low of 21.5 C, Indore 35.7 C and 18.8 C, Gwalior 39.5 C and 23.9 C, Jabalpur 36.3 C and 25.4 C.

It is expected to arrive over this state in the second week of June,'' said Regional Meteorological Centre Director D P Dubey.

Guna received overnight rainfall of 2 cm, while Raisen, Rajgarh, Indore and Gwalior received 1 cm each. Datia was the hottest at 44 C.
