3 BJP workers sentenced to life imprisonment
Kannur, May 29 (UNI) Three activists of the BJP were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here in connection with the murder of a CPI(M) worker in May 2001.
Thalassery Sessions Court Judge Sathi Nath sentenced Hariharan, K Sudhir and O K Biju, to life term under the IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 307 and slapped a fine of Rs one lakh each.
However, the court aquitted three other accused, K Sujith, C Pradeepan and M Gangadharan.
The CPI(M) worker M Vijayan was stabbed to death at Thillenkeri in the district on May 10, 2001.
