Yediyurappa challenges Congress to prove allegations
Mangalore, May 28 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today invited Opposition Congress to come to a platform and prove its allegations of Finance mismanagement against BJP-JD(S) coalition government.
"Since I also hold Finance portfolio, I will prove the achievements of the 16 month-old JD(S) coalition government point by point if they (Congress) comes to a platform", he added.
Talking to newsmen here, Mr Yediyurappa alleged that the Congress has failed to function as a responsible Opposition party by not participating in the discussion during the Session and now trying to mislead the voters of Ullal constitutency which is going to polls on June Two with false allegations.
He said that the coalition government has succeeded in collecting an additional Rs 5,700 Crore during 2006-07 by plugging the loopholes. Why the Congress could not do it during its regime, he questioned.
