Vedic Studies centre at Madhya Pradesh varsity
Ujjain (MP), May 28: Country's first independent Vedic Studies centre will start functioning from July at this ancient temple town's Vikram University.
''Vedic education is provided at Hoshiarpur's Dayanand Saraswati Sampraday, Tirupati University and Banaras Hindu University. We are unique in the sense that we will offer graduate and post-graduate courses. Practicals will be conducted at a yagyashala, which is to be constructed,'' the Centre's head Acharya Kedar Narayan Joshi told UNI.
Guest lecturers' services would be availed and the first batch would have a capacity of 25 students.
''The varsity's proposal in this regard was ayed by Governor Balram Jakhar,'' Mr Joshi said yesterday.
