Two women washed away in flash floods

Hubli, May 27 (UNI) Two women were killed when flash floods hit them while working near a check dam at Kotekal Village in Bagalkot district.

Police said about ten labourers, including the deceased were working near a check dam when the mishap occurred late last evening.

The flash floods occurred due to sudden downpour in the area.

While eight labourers survived the flash floods, two women -- Gouramma (35) and Sridevi (45) -- were washed away.

Later, the bodies were recovered, police added.
