Two doctors arrested for negligence in Gandhidham

Bhuj, May 28 (UNI) Two Doctors were arrested by police in Gandhidham in Kutch district for causing death of a pregnant woman due to negligence during 2006.

Police sources said that Dr Chandrakant Thakkar and Dr Naresh Bhanushali, who run a private hospital at Gandhidham, performed a cesarean operation on Mrs Shakshi Girish Shalin on May 30, 2006.

Immediately after the operation, it was alleged that she developed some post operative problems and died on June 11.

Her Husband registered a complaint with the police that his wife died due to negligence of the two doctors, who operated her.

On the basis of his complaint, an inquiry was ordered by the authorities and after a medical examination report received from the Jamnagar hospital, the duo were arrested yesterday.
