SP leader arrested for power theft

Moradabad, May 28 (UNI) City unit Samajwadi Party president Ekram Qureshi and his brother Irfan were today arrested in connection with power theft at their ice factories.

The state Power Department sealed the factories yesterday, police said.

The units of Ekram and Irfan were utilising double and four times their sanctioned capacity respectively.

The duo have been asked to pay Rs 44 lakh and 60 lakh respectively to the power department.
