MP: Son-in-law held for loot

Shajapur (MP), May 28: Police today arrested a youth and his younger brother for thrashing and looting Rs 2.50 lakh from the former's father-in-law.

Superintendent of Police Dr Asha Mathur said the victim's son-in-law Gagan Singh and his younger brother were arrested in connection with beating up and looting a farmer at Pochaner village in Avantipur Badodiya police station area on May 16. Rs one lakh was recovered from their possession. Six others who are also involved in this offence were yet to be arrested, she said.

In another incident, police arrested two persons and recovered Rs 1.70 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 30,000 from them. They were wanted in connection with snatching away a merchant's bag containing about Rs 4 lakh from the Soyat bus stand last month, Dr Mathur added.
