Solanki hands over resignation to Guj BJP Chief Rupala
Gandhinagar, May 28 (UNI) Minister of State for Cattle Breeding and Fisheries Purshottam Solanki today submitted his resignation to State BJP President Purushottam Rupala in the presence of Agriculture Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma.
Mr Solanki had last week had offered to quit Narendra Modi's Council of Ministers over police's inability to arrest the culprits involved in the murder and sexual assult of two teenaged girls from the Koli community in Junagadh.
He had announced his resignation at his community members meet held at his residence on May 23.
Mr Solanki, who belongs to the Koli Community, was under pressure from his community, who were angered by the May 13 incident.
Both girls were allegedly abducted by two men who raped one of them and murdered another when she resisted them.
