Seven injured in an attack on a procession

Hajipur, May 28 (UNI) At least seven people were injured following an attack on the procession of a winning panchayat candidate by the rival group in Vaishali district.

District Deputy Superintendent of Police P K Das here said the supporters Ajay Jaiswal, in a recently concluded local bodies election, were marching with the victory procession when sympathisers of loosing candidate Dinesh Shah attacked them injuring several others.

Four, seriously injured, were rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital while the rest were admitted to a local hospital, Mr Das said.

Two people were arrested in this connection so far.
