Hyderabad, May 28 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K Narayana today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government constitute a separate Commission to implement the K Ranga Rao Land Committee recommendations.

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Narayana said the government should finalise the report released yesterday, and take steps to implement its recommendations immediately.

Alleging that the government was not sincere in implementing the recommendations of the land committee, he said the government should conduct integrated land survey and solve the disputes between Forest and Revenue lands.

Stating that the CPI would participate in the 'agriculture land occupation' agitation to be launched by the Agriculture Labourers Union from June one, Mr Narayana urged the government to regulate tribal lands in agency areas as the Centre had already enacted a law in this regard.

Suggesting that the government set up a three-member committee, headed by Joint Collector in every district to solve the land disputes following encroachment of government lands and assigned lands by influential persons, the CPI leader said the party was ready to help the government in resolving the land disputes at every village-level.

Condemning yesterday's police lathicharge on farmers in Adilabad district, who demanded supply of seeds for all, Mr Narayana urged the government to take action against the police officials and supply seeds to all farmers by setting up mandal-level seed distribution centres.
