Pune hotelier Avinash Bhosale gets bail

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) A vacation court has granted bail to Pune-based hotelier and construction consultant Avinash Bhosale, who was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport in the early hours yesterday.

Bhosale was produced before a vacation magistrate last night and was granted a conditional bail on furnishing a bond for Rs 50,000.

Bhosale was intercepted at the city airport when he was walking out of the terminal through the green channel on his return from London, accompanied by his wife and some relatives.

The DRI team found dutiable items including, diamond studded watches and travel cheques in his baggage.

Subsequently, he was detained by the DRI sleuths to ascertain the sources of the funds from which the items were bought.
