Baramulla, May 28 (UNI) A local court in Kupwara district of north Kashmir today granted bail to a Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) woman and her two children, but refused to release her husband.

Saira Bano, a resident of PoK capital Muzaffarabad, along with her husband Javed Ahmed Dar and two children had travelled to Jammu and Kashmir on valid passports and visa via Wagah and then Delhi in February this year. They were to visit relatives at Cherakote in Kupwara district.

Dar, a resident of Cherakote, had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in 1990s to get arms training in PoK militant camps.

He later married Saira Bano and had two children from her.

However, the PoK woman along with her husband and two children were arrested soon after they arrived in Kupwara on February 7.

Police had registered a case against Dar and other family members under FIR number 47/2007. They had been lodged at the Sogam police station in Kupwara district since their arrest.

The family through its counsels later approached the court, which directed the police to release the PoK woman and her two children, but refused to grant bail to her husband.
