Metal prices edged up

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) Metal prices edged up today on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy, copper utensils and brass cutting rose by Rs 200 each per quintal on higher advice.

In the non-ferrous section, Aluminium Ingot advanced by Rs 100 per quintal while lead ingot also shot up by Rs 400 on heavy demand from retailers.

Nickel cathode also went up by Rs 10 per kg on fresh demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,700, Copper utensils - Rs 31,100, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,700 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,100, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 720 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,250 (per kg).
