KMC removes illegal hawkers, stall owners from Mutton market area

Kolhapur, May 28 (UNI) The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation today faced stiff opposition from stall owners, hawkers and scrap dealers on the busy Mutton market and Sahu cloth market area, where the civic body had undertaken a drive to remove these encroachers.

The agitating vendors, backed by political bigwigs including senior BJP leader Subhash Vora, NCP city chief R K Pawar, were arrested to clear the way for KMC officials to carry out the demolition drive against encroachers.

DySP Shahaji Umap provided police protection to KMC officials.
