Karam Sivaji calls off hunger strike

Kakinada, May 28 (UNI) Mala Mahanadu State President Karam Sivaji today called off his indefinite hunger strike, demanding not to categorise SCs, following assurance by PCC delegation and SC Cell Chairman B Parthasarathi that the issue would be taken up with Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy.

Earlier, Amalapuram MP G V Harsha Kumar, MLA Pamula Rajeshawari and Parthasarathi talked with the agitating leader and assured that PCC would discuss the contentious issue with the Chief Minister and take a decision.

It may be recalled that Mr Sivaji commenced his hunger strike at his relative's house in Bogguladibba at Rajahmundry on May 25. On May 26 night, police forcibly took him to Kakinada and got him admitted in the hospital.

However, Mr Sivaji called off his hunger strike today.
