India, UAE to have security-related ties

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) India and the United Arab Emirates agreed today to move forward in cooperation in security-related matters.

Issues of security-related cooperation were discussed bewteen a visiting UAE delegation and Home Ministry officials at an hour-long meeting here, an offical statement said.

The seven-member delegation was led by Lt Gen Saif Abdulla Al-Shaafartheir, Under Secretary, Ministry of Interior, while the Indian side was headed by Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta.

To carry forward the cooperation, the delegation will now have further detailed discussions with the India officers and agencies concerned to work out details of agreements and institutional arrangements.

The visiting delegation also called on Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
