HP BJP demands action against Una DC

Una, May 28 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh BJP President Jai Ram Thakur today alleged that Una Deputy Commissioner Anita Tegta should be immediately transferred from the district to ensure free and fair elections in the Hamirpur Lok Sabha bypoll.

Addressing mediapersons here today, he said the request, along with all facts and figures about Ms Tegta's acivities had been conveyed to the Election Commission. Una district is a part of the Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency.

Mr Thakur said that repeated complaints of violation of the moral code of conduct by the Congress had been brought to the notice of the Una DC who is linked with the ruling party. However the DC had failed to take action on the BJP complaints, he claimed.

He said the party has demanded that the Election Commission deploy a batallion of the para military forces in the constituency to instill confidence amongst the voters.
