Higher reaches in HP experience fresh snowfall

Shimla, May 28 (UNI) Higher reaches in Himachal Pradesh experienced fresh mild snowfall while light to moderate rain lashed most parts of the state today.

According to met office here, all major peaks of state and higher reaches in Bharmour and Pangi Valley in Chamba district received fresh snowfall. Lower parts of the district had rain.

High altitude areas of Kinnaur district also had mild snowfall and intermitent rain today. However, the Sky was clear in the tribal Lahul-Spiti district.

Lower parts of state received intermitent rains bringing down the temperature sharply at most places. Shimla recorded 3.1 mm, Sundernagar 12.7 mm, Bhuntar 1.9 mm, UNA 1 mm, Dharmshala 6.2 mm, Palampur 10.1 mm, Kalpa 6 mm and Nadaun 16.5 mm.

Uncertain spells of hail and wind have caused damage to flowering in Apple orchids.

The maximum temperature in Shimla was 22.2 degrees celsius.
