Hero Honda unveils 'Splendor NXG' at Rs 40,990 onwards

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) Country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML) today launched two variants of its all new Splendor NXG priced at Rs 40,990 and Rs 41,990 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively.

The new model comes with a new powerful engine of 100 cc in two variants -- one with alloy (cast) wheels and other with spoke gear.

The first of the two models with a self-start is Rs 1,000 costlier than the spoke gear bike.

''Splendor is the largest selling bike in the world. We sold 1.1 million units of the model alone last year, out of the total 3.3 million units in all segments sold,'' HHML CEO and Managing Director Pawan Munjal told reporters at the launch.

It will be available in five colours -- black, vibrant blue, force silver, candy blazing red and classy maroon -- flashing a new tail light, new fuel tank with knee grip, trip meter and aluminium die cast rear grip.

''Splendor NXG carries forward the legacy, keeping in mind the changing customer needs and preferences. The Splendor equity in the two-wheeler market is certainly going to get stronger with this new bike,'' said Mr Munjal.

The company had launched eight bikes last year and ''all products have been selling with a double growth,'' company's Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Anil Dua told reporters adding that more products will be lined up in the near future in the 100-125 cc bikes range.

Talking about the number of units to be produced on this particular brand, he told UNI that ''On-in-all 100,000 Splendors will be produced every month, including the Splendor NXG.'' With this new launch, the company is poised to further consolidate its 50 per cent market share in the motorcycle segment, he added.
