Haryana wrestlers again prove their supremacy
Chandigarh, May 28 (UNI) The Haryana wrestlers once again proved their supremacy by clinching the men's greco-roman and women's freestyle winners trophies and finished runners-up in men's freestyle competitions in the 26th boys and 10th girls sub-junior National Wrestling Championship being organised by the Punjab Wrestling Association at Anandpur Sahib.
Haryana wrestlers proved too good in greco-roman style as they topped with 93 points.
Uttar pradesh and Maharashtra were tied for the runners-up trophy with 67 points apiece. However, Uttar Pradesh wrestlers were declared runner-up as they had more number of gold medals to their credit.
Delhi just managed to push Haryana to the second spot with a one-point margin. Delhi secured 71 for trophy while Haryana had to remained themselves satisfied with the second position. Maharashtra obtained third position with 58 points.
The Haryana women wrestlers were also to the fore as they amassed 87 points for the trophy. Uttar Pradesh and Manipur got second and third positions with 75 and 53 points, respectively.
