Economicaly Backward Classes Commission in Rajasthan
Jaipur, May 28 (UNI) The Rajasthan government has constituted an Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) Commission to identify the conditions of the economically weaker sections among the forward castes and suggest measures for their uplift.
The Commission will comprise a chairman, a member secretary and a member. According to a release, the government would shortly nominate the chairman and the member. The member secretary would be a retired or serving officer on the Deputy Secretary's rank, the release added.
The Commission will be given a term of three years and it would follow the principles of ''social harmony and natural justice'' to prepare the list of EBCs without changing the status of the shedule Castes, Schedule Tribes (SC/ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) for reservations.
The Commissison will examine the claims made by people from various sections of society for inclusion in the EBCs list and make it recommendations to the state government.
